Incendy, I think you are too critical of your work, like most of us are. I think the original is fine. Best thing is to print it and look at it again with fresh eyes in the morning under natural light.

Just add contrast to the original and add USM. It probably got softer when you downsized the image.

Nice conversion! Yeah, without the RAW it is hard to fix the color... so B&W is the way to go.

This is the approach I would have taken. Well done. The skin tones look the way I would think they looked. You may want to adjust some of the levels now for some pop.

The color in Rhino's feels most natural to me, as the background in mho should be white or variation there of. My only comment would have been to shorten up your DOF so the that the wings feather out more. It's a nit, so take it for what's it's worth. Some how I think a little angel should have a feeling of softness to it. Cheers.
