Cheers CDS , I appreciate the comments as I sometimes wonder if my pp experiments(playing;) ) go too far and out of the bounds of good taste:lol:

Nice shots. Why, why can't the East and West coast demo teams use smoke like they do across the pond. All we get are same grey jets, show after show.

Adam , i feel for you !!! from what i see of images from airshows we get a lot that you guys dont see, the smokers really enhance the experience , the create interesting paterns and trails , I also believe you dont see the flares there ? at Eastbourne this aircraft put up 3 series of flares one batch was 20+
we are also getting a lot more pyros now in mock battle scenes.
I think you might enjoy a trip over here for a display:)

Hi John, really nice set of images. 1-5 are all nice captures but would have benefited from a bit of sunlight on the plane, although there isn't a lot you could have done about that of course. I particularly like 2 & 5.

I also like the pink tinted one, it's unusual but effective and the smoke and vapour works well.

Cheers,
Graham

Cheers Julie ! I quite often like to colourize images with soft pastels:) In this case I thin I was trying to subliminally say that although these aircraft ar designed for war they still have a softer side , they are IMHO beautiful ,elegant and graceful too.

thanks Dean , I've seem many of the new aircraft do wonderfu displays this year, Typhoon , Rafale , Mig 29ovt , but yes this "old bird" can hold its own and still looks great

Hi Graham , thanks for commenting , I think 1 is the weakest of the set and was only really included as I wanted to offer as much variety as possibe , #5 in is native state actually has maybe the best natural lighting of the bunch , it was pretty nuch belly against the sun as you can tell from the highspots ! the reason it looks as it does is from PP , I have darkened it a lot and added contrast as I hve found it really brings out the heat haze from the "jet wash" top left which is much less prominant in the original, it also makes it stand out and gives contrast against the sky , for the same reason #4 is quite dark , I really didnt want 8 shots showing a grey plane so I like to play with the images a lot . The pink one is my favourite of the bunch ,Imho the backlight vapour and smoke help show that shooting towards the sun is a good thing and can provide a dramatic shot , I quickly decided it would look good as a B&W then added the pink to try to soften the image and the image of warbirds .
Thanks so much for the comments though , I enjoy the thoughts and talking about the thought process behind an image.
