I'm still working on the photos from my trip to Italy a week ago. Still have about 100 to go. I got through Cinque Terre and thought I would share a few with you.

Starting at the northern most village of Monterosso al Mare, here is the Gigante.

to the Harbour.

We then started the Sentiero Azzuro (Blue Path) and began to hike to the next village. Here is a shot looking back over the village of Vernazza.

The trail was a little too much (weather was HOT and the path started very steeply) for my father and we turned back and took the train south to Corniglia. Here is the train station looking up to the village.

Continuing south we then got back on the Sentiero Azzuro in Manarola and hiked the section known as Via dell'Amore (Lover's Lane), which is the easiest section and only takes about 20 minutes to walk as it is very flat, to Riomaggiore...

It is a great palce to visit. Very picturesque!! I would highly recommend it to all. If you are interested in hiking the coastal path, Sentiero Azzuro, make sure you are in shape for climbing the hills and bring PLENTY of water if it is hot. They had to air-lift a hiker from the trail due to heat exhaustion while we were hiking. It was probably in the mid to high 80's and and my father only had a half liter of water and the trail kept going up, which is why we turned back.

Enjoy, and C&C is always welcome.

Looks like a beautiful place! Good advice thanks. Also have sturdy footware and clothing that keeps you warm and dry. Take it with you even if it is 35 degrees C and sunny! But most importantly: take your camera gear with you...

Nice series, I really like the 2nd & 4th picture. I think the Cinque Terre is one of the prettiest places in Italy that I've seen.

It's a beautiful place and I will be returning...some day. There's lots more to hike and photograph there.
