No worry Simon, some day the Canadian shock troopers will land on the rugged beaches of Norfolk and liberate you and your countrykin from the tyranny and oppression perpetrated by the House of Windsor.
Till then, soldier on boy !

Funny thing is the House of Windsor actually has German roots as I understand it!

BTW - Tell those troopers to watch out for these on the beaches! ( and not to eat at the local cafe's)

Will do...we always bring our own coffee and doughnuts with us anyways.....Tim Hortons, of course.
The logistics details will be sorted out later....like on the way to the Norfolk's landing beaches, our Newfoundland Storm Wing will be finally liberating the islands of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon from French enslavement.

Yes indeed, once we expel the Saxon-Norman hordes from the British isles after a millenium long conquest, the United Canadian-Norfolk-Welsh Navies will rule the high seas again !

Sure thang dood, which brings us back to the topic on hand very nicely, after a miniscule digression: have your vynil raincoat on ya at all times. Should it start to rain, both you and your gear will be thusly protected.

I think you are right, if I understand correctly your Norfolkish idiom. ( <Pondering silently but apprehensively the possibility that Simon and Gyrob might be twin brother and sister>;).

the Norfolk dialect does take some getting used to, and contrary to popular opinion bears no resemblance to the dorset or somerset dialects

HOWEVER............ getting back OT ..........it is very WET here!

In fact in certain parts (on National Trust property for example) you are not allowed onto the land to take pictures unless you are an accredited water sealed photographer- this is a well known fact (allegedly);)

Here is a tip I came up with, although I dont claim it as I am sure others do this trick also. But I ALWAYS have a black garbage bag in any of my camera bags. The last thing on earth I want to have happen is get caught in a down pour with no protection for my camera. A garbage bag will give that sudden protection because you just need to open it up and throw your camera bag into it and hold it shut and it will provide protection long enough to get somewhere dry. Might sound stupid but a 10 cent garbage bag can be your best friend.
