Hi Kylie
You're very brave to shoot into the sun .. it is not the easiest of shots.
You got a bit od lens flare in the second shot but that can be taken out in post processing.
Try shooting with your back to the sun to start with and get used to your camera and various lighting conditions.
Will look out for your further posts and see you progressing.
This is a great hobby and can be a great job.

In the first shot, it would have helped to get the sun behind the big tree in order to catch some of the rays coming through the branches. That would have made the scene more dramatic.

You're holding the camera wrong in your avatar ... your hand should be supporting the camera ... camera on the palm ... fingers gripping the lens.
