Spent the weekend getting wet, and then a little more wet.

Here's a shot from Rydal Mount near Ambleside in the lakes. We stayed in the building you can see in the top right.

C&C welcome.

Thanks.

Chris

(more shots from weekend here (external link) and here (external link)(not much processing done on all of these, most of them snapshots, but processed a few), still got to work on Sundays photos though)

Very nice indeed, Chris.
I particularly like the soft, muted colours in the first image.
But all are well worked images.

I had a quick look at your landscape gallery....very impressive.

The orange colors in that tree make the first shot. Very nice.

All all very good. Especially #1 and #3 stand uot due to PP. Can you tell us how these were processed. I guess some soft focus effect a la Scott Kelby using Gaussian blur and layer mix. But what about the colouring? Judging from the halos around mountain and tracktor in #3 you did some selective dodging/colouring/darkening?

Thanks,

Actually hardly any processing done on first, just a tad on the colour correction to warm it up slightly. Obviously levels, and a tad burning on the water to make it a little less bright.

The last one, i messed up with the halos ;) two exposures merged together, I didnt have time earlier to go back and correct the halo's but will do when i get a min. With this one I applied the same sort of grunge effect that I did with the series of images I posted a couple of weeks ago. (if you take a look at those i talked through it step by step.

Do you use a pen tablet for this kind of job? I do have a tablet but I am just asking and getting as much info out of you so people can learn. ;)

I will surely have a look at how you did this effect. Do you have a link?

No pen tablet, I wouldn't mind trying one some day, I have been contemplating it though, would make things a little easier.

Here's the link to the thread with the walk through

But do a search for my posts, I posted a large number of shots manipulated in this way, some more so than others.

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

Lovely day on the terrace and Loughrigg !!!
Usually nice and sunny when I do that walk, but did go one winter when the paths had that much ice on them I had to turn back.
Typical lakes weather.

Lovely 1st image. I've ridden through Rydal many times and love it but I don't recognise the scene. Note to self, start exploring beyond the Badger Bar.

The tractor shot is also striking, the weather works really well here. Dunno about it being typical, it's always hot enough to sunbathe when I go, even in the middle of October! I must just be lucky. :)

Thanks for posting, I must make it back there again before Autumn is over.

Badgers Bar is great, try walking up the road next to it, past the church. We stayed just up there, (not far to the badgers bar ;))
