Did Ken go with the Canon way? I thought he is a Nikonian

I stopped reading when he said that he leaves it on P mode.

He is a Nikonian. His Canon guides come from his experiences borrowing them to make the arguement that Nikons take high ISO pics as well or better than Canons.

Sweet new gear for a photogenic new year!

I read his 20D guide and frankly, I agreed with almost nothing that he had to say. He is redefining "Idiot's Guide..." it wasn't supposed to mean "guide made by idiots"...

I'm not familiar with Rockwell, but it seems like an amateur wrote that guide.

I used to shoot Nikon, and Ken's site was a place I checked into frequently. He has pretty good reviews of a lot of the Nikon lenses, and he usually explains his position so you can decide if he's full of it or not. Clearly his site is there to make money, and this has caused him to expand into other stuff that he hasn't used, or doesn't know as well... like Canon. He has no problem writing reviews on equipment he's never touched. I don't really give any credibility to any of his Canon reviews/guides because he simply hasn't used them enough to know what he's talking about. That doesn't stop him from getting advertising money from people going there.

As I have said before, "Ken Rockwell is the best money can buy".

Not wanting to be controversial, but isn't he just someone else making money out of photography. As was said above he's paid to write reviews. Remember that saying "those that can, do. Those that can't, teach.

I laughed out loud!

I'll use Tv ("Time value") if I want to select a certain shutter speed only, in which case the 30D selects the aperture. I never use this.

I'll use Av ("Aperture value") if I want to select a certain aperture only, in which case the 30D selects the shutter speed. I only use this when testing lenses and need exact apertures. I don't use this for real photography.

And why would anybody choose full stop increments over 1/2 or 1/3? Or am I missing something?

I have never used an 8x10 view camera, should I write a review if someone paid me. Sure, why not? However, I'm sure there would be those out there that would criticize it.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, the internet is full of crap if you know where to look.
