Sharpening Raw Photos

I am so new to raw photos, I used raw to shoot pictures of a friends baby and they are so grainy! Iso was to high! They do not look sharp at all, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

You need to sharpen Raw images usually so this can be done by using unsharp mask.

You might want to try a noise reducing programme such as noise ninga or neatimage to tackle your noise issue :)

Not sure what RAW convertor you are using I have been using Bibble and I use it for the a first pass sharpening. Then for the final product I have been playing some with the TLR Professional sharpening kit for photoshop and like the results it gives and the ability to slectively sharpen certain areas. If you are move to exposure too far off of what it actually was you'll get more noise than usual. That could be where some of it is coming from.

I sharpen 99% of my images and 100% of them when I resize to post on the web.
