I am heading there in November for work. I will only be there for a few days and don't know if I will be able to get away to take some pictures. If I can I would like to have a list of places to go for some good pics. Thoughts?

2 Samuel 9:7-8, "So David said to him, “Do not fear, for I will surely show you kindness for Jonathan your father’s sake, and will restore to you all the land of Saul your grandfather; and you shall eat bread at my table continually.” Then he bowed himself, and said, “What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead dog as I?”

Well there is always the beach!:D Seriously I have been there many times and until recently was not into shooting. The piers are great landscapes to shoot. See my POTN link in my sig and check out the shots from the landscape section.

If you shoot wildlife or just nature itself check out Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet. Lots of statues, gardens, and wildlife there.

Lots of attractions in North Myrtle Beach.

The intercoastal water way might yield some nice pics as well.

I was at a conferance in Myrtle Beach recently. Unless you want beach and sea scenes then all that's left seems to be the tackiest touristy places. Myrtle Beach is not a nice place for a holiday. It's just about OK for business meetings though.

Well, is there a crappy part of town where I could take some urban shots?

Just west of Myrtle Beach is a very large area of swamps and such...lots of interesting scenery there. Like Mike said, there are piers and the inter-coastal waterway...some very interesting architecture in both MB and NMB...I suspect if you were to look a bit...you will find plenty to shoot. There are spots for urban shots just off the strip...might even find a few interesting ones on the strip.

Thank you all for your responses. I had such a small amount of time to actually take pictures. Luckily I had some great travelling companions with patience. RHYS, you are right about the conference thing. That is why I went there.

Here is the link to my smugmug gallery (external link) of the trip.

Here is a shot or two that was marginally better than the rest. They are all OOC

Do you know which beach the shots with the fence were taken? I took some similar shots at Garden City just south of Myrtle Beach.

I would really like to go back someday. We went into Conway but it was for work so by the time we got done with what we had to do I lost all the light.
