Is there anything that can be done with this background?

My kids and I were waiting and waiting on my sister at old navy so we decided to have some camera kicks. I love this pic of my dd but I was wondering if there is anything that can be done with the background.

Hi
I think that the flash fired too close to the girl creating her image over exposed while the background is dark. I would also consider a lower angel while taking the shot. What would you like to do with the background? If you want to illuminate the girl from it, I think that you can try to blur it using Photoshop for instance.

I love the high angle and the smirk on her face. All the background needed was motion blur in Photoshop. Here is my version.

There are many many options here - just depends on what you wanted. Using offset, you can easily take the background down as well. You have lots of choices here.

it could definately benefit from some cropping to portrait format.

I am always a fan of the simple black background and some added contrast

My personal vote goes for Craigs. I think I prefer the blurred background (IMHO)

Just blurred out the BG and lightened it up.

Welcome to the forum. As you can see there are a lot of great people here willing to help. I wish I could but my photoshop skills are about nonexistent. It is a cute picture that you took. I like song4themoon's version. Enjoy your stay.

Wow! you guys are awesome!! I love the motion blur.

Yes this picture really shows her personality. It is so "her".

I am just starting out in photography. All I have is a point and shoot at the moment but I have my eye on either a Canon S3 IS or a Canon rebel XT. (whichever I can afford when it comes time).

It is so great that I found this forum with awesome knowledgable people.

You guys ROCK!!!! An thanks for the tips. I actually don't have photoshop yet. I have gimpshop but I am trying to learn how to use it. I have been thinking about investing in photoshop. It will be a must when I get my good camera.
