The biggest draw to the more $ lenses is the aperture IMHO. The build quality on the mk1 fifty, and the f2 35 is more than satisfactory. Very simple design... and potent!

glad you are happy with it. the focus speed on that lens, espcially in low light drove me into the ground when i had it. it would take all day to find something, going back and forth back and forth, right past the subject multiple times. :mad:


That's why Canon gives us an AF/MF switch, pre-focus in M; then switch it back...worked for years. :)

I still love the size of this lens for travel use, way better then my L tele IMO.
