I also visited the 9/11 memorial here in NYC yesterday. Will be working on those images tonight

they allow dslr in the memorial? what about tripods? i'm going end of the month I just want to make sure what I can and can't bring...

Yes they allow DSLR and tripods. Make sure you make reservations online! You can't get in without a ticket. Reservations are filled until November if you don't have one already but they release a few for the day of visits. Reservations are free.

Also be prepared to walk through a metal detector and place your bag, belt, jacket in a bin to be scanned like in the airport as well. Security is very tight at the memorial with numerous checkpoints scanning tour ticket. Once inside it is truely powerful and peaceful. I suggest going around 6pm. It is beautiful right after sunset with the illuminated foot prints of the original twin towers.

Hey Peter... as for my workflow here it goes...

1. I shoot everything in raw
2. Import everything to LR3
3. Cull/remove unusable photos (a lot haha)
4. what I do first is crop align and lens correction... I tend to have a lot of distortion coz I mostly use an UWA Lens
5. then the usual exposure adjustment, I always avoid using contrast and clarity now, and tend to brighten the scene and use the Black slider
6. Use GND/ND and brush to adjust or even out the scene
7. then add a bit of vibrance then play with specific color sliders
8. lastly do some sharpening and noise if necessary...
9. export w/ watermark or go to PS.

I only go to PS for the following...
1. to use mask ( I am bad at this haha)
2. to clone out a lot of things ( I am learning)
3. to blend exposure of 2 shots if the filters can't compensate for the DR
4. lately, to correct massive distortion like my SM shot

so basically that's it, after doing my thing on PS, I tend to save the PS file back to LR then export it from there too after all that if I am still not satisfied I either reedit it again from scratch or try to do a little bit of everything again haha

anyway here's another shot from the helipad on my sister's condo in Mandaluyong

the very very bright street on the lower part of the photo is Shaw Boulevard and those buildings at the far end is Makati

unfortunately mr tony, the weather forecast on oct 8 here in vancouver is cloudy with a chance of meatballs, i mean rain later in the afternoon. i have lots of moonshots, until monk3y complained joke only.

I actually like my WB for night shots toward the cool side but, it would be interesting to see what it would look like.

Just warning you guys it is very difficult to get a straight on shot when you have zero space to work with at the 9/11 memorial with the amount of people all trying to get shots with their phones and point and shoots. Also forced to use iso 3200 due to no tripod I tried as best as i could:
