Just warning you guys it is very difficult to get a straight on shot when you have zero space to work with at the 9/11 memorial with the amount of people all trying to get shots with their phones and point and shoots. Also forced to use iso 3200 due to no tripod I tried as best as i could:

very nice capture viper. the lights looks so surreal, sends shivers down my spine. this will be remembered for generations to come. it will be in the books that my kids and their kids will read. pray that this will never happen again, ever.

how come you didn't use a tripod? I thought you mentioned that they allow tripods?

Thank you. It has a very peaceful feel to it once you are in there. Very quiet which is difficult to attain in NYC. All you hear are the waterfalls from the foot prints. Everyone inside is very respectful.

hehe salamat pero sabi nga ni JD orange

btw what you see is not barrel distortion, its perspective distortion na... buildings are leaning towards the center on both sides... the Sigma 12-24 has very very small varrel distortion hehe

yes get an UWA lalo na if gusto mo landscape din, kaya nga lang d kaya ang moon ... I am about to buy my 2nd uwa nextweek hehe very excited

then there comes the trip next month and Martin's trip here in January so I will be broke for the next couple of months

Hey Peter... as for my workflow here it goes...

1. I shoot everything in raw
2. Import everything to LR3
3. Cull/remove unusable photos (a lot haha)
4. what I do first is crop align and lens correction... I tend to have a lot of distortion coz I mostly use an UWA Lens
5. then the usual exposure adjustment, I always avoid using contrast and clarity now, and tend to brighten the scene and use the Black slider
6. Use GND/ND and brush to adjust or even out the scene
7. then add a bit of vibrance then play with specific color sliders
8. lastly do some sharpening and noise if necessary...
9. export w/ watermark or go to PS.

I only go to PS for the following...
1. to use mask ( I am bad at this haha)
2. to clone out a lot of things ( I am learning)
3. to blend exposure of 2 shots if the filters can't compensate for the DR
4. lately, to correct massive distortion like my SM shot

so basically that's it, after doing my thing on PS, I tend to save the PS file back to LR then export it from there too after all that if I am still not satisfied I either reedit it again from scratch or try to do a little bit of everything again haha

anyway here's another shot from the helipad on my sister's condo in Mandaluyong

I appreciate sharing your workflow like me I start with LR3 then go to cs4 and add border/ I am also learning still the cloning,vanishing point I am so bad for smoothing the edges once I have thing that I don't like vanished but I don't do this very often that is why I dont get used to it, I will need to more practicing. But Monk3y thanks for sharing your workflow...If you don't mind I will try it.

Your workflow is very good IMO, It make sense to do the sharpening, noise reduction as last step before moving on to PS. But why not use clarity? me too I don't use contrast, I have to learn how to use the brush, ND,GND I know how to use them a little bit. Thanks

Dr Jose Rizal talaga at ito pa 2 blocks away from the park it is the Dr. Jose Rizal Bridge kulay green nakita mo na ito right after passing Downtown Seattle makikita mo siya on your left side kung papunta kang Jollibee.

Very nice series Viper....Maybe we can go visit the place too next year.

Thanks peter... I tend to avoid Clarity lately but I still use it if I need to. I tend to avoid it coz it tends to make my photos a bit heavy looking I dunno... ever since I started I find my photos have a heavy feel to it. so as much as possible I try to lighten them up hehe

as for the UWA, since I am shooting Nikon I will be getting the 16-35mm f/4 so I could make good use of my big filters

Those GND filters on LR3 are probably the first things I've learned to use I use them to saturate my skies before haha

yes UWA are great, here is a 16-35 mm shoot @16mm on Full Frame...now I have the 17-40 mm as my walk about on the 5D2, while the 24-105 is on the 7D for a full coverage of 17- 168mm.
