I think the place has a higher cost to produce the pizza comared to a Pizza place, thus they can justify their price
I love to make bruschetta, and open face mock pizza, a good portugueses or Mexican hero type sandwich, cut in half, spread prego spaghetti sauce, olives, artichoke, mozzarella, basil, oregano, ham, anchovies, pepperoni, etc...i love making them for snacks, sometime I put spanish sardines, yummy.

Edit: bake in toaster oven until cheese is melted

Another quick snack, buy tortillas, on the sauce pan place the tortilla with grated cheese, sliced grilled chicken and salsa, picant, salsa can be in the side later, if you want hot, fold, instsnt chicken quessodilla.

Cheers,
Tony

monk3y, having your mom-in-law there will definitely help in saving some money and spending it on the things that matter most :) maybe 1 nice dinner every other night will be enough.
