nice! i like your version. the tammy is definitely a nice lens for its price, and because i really like shooting birds, it has a nice reach on crap err i mean crop body like t1i :) i love my t1i. but your 70-200 + 1.4 tc is a good combo also. the 70-200 is known to be insanely sharp. the tammy performs best when there is enough sunlight, and if you can get really close to the bird (or your subject), you'll get very nice results :)

Thanks Jodelak for the input...I think I will add the 1.4 tc and maybe later sell if I am not happy with result and then think over the tammy lens.....I like to be able to autofocus with 1.4x that is why I am considering it....my 2x is okey but only manual focus. I like the beep sounds to confirm I am focused.

got lucky today, on my way to a beach and found this raptor sitting enjoying the sunset :) the sun is casting a shadow and maybe i should have used a flash, but that might startle the osprey and fly away. loved how the sun was reflected from the bird's eye :D

Aren't you from Florida? I've always thought you have more colourful fine feathered friends.

I feel your pain. I live on the next province where Jodelak lives. But we don't have the same amount. We have more waterfowl and raptors but not the colourful fruit eaters and song birds. I have to drive a few hours toward the Rocky Mountains to see them.

Funny to say but while washing dishes saw these birds flying just above the trees in our backyard grab my camera and 70-200mm and were able to take some pics not so great but I thought I share it.
I hope next time they just let me know that they are around flying he he he. Heavily cropped this crappy pics.
