Funny to say but while washing dishes saw these birds flying just above the trees in our backyard grab my camera and 70-200mm and were able to take some pics not so great but I thought I share it.
I hope next time they just let me know that they are around flying he he he. Heavily cropped this crappy pics.

peter, photography and dish washing don't mix, that explains the crappy picture. but with dove dish washing liquid with extra moisturizers thats gentle on your hands, perfect combination. believe me, i'm speaking from experience LoL :D

200mm is just not enough for birding that's why i went for 70-300mm. on a 1.6 crop, its equiv to 480mm, which is almost enough. someday i might be able to get a 100-400 but for now, i'm happy with my tammy.

... does it really matter?i see with my eyes, i shoot with my fingers.

yeah I guess they don't go together but anyway I decided to start savings for the 100-400mm and and for the 1.4x TC canon starting tonight with my winnings playing poker with friends while watching the big fight tonight....you got to be a positive thinking right? I am really digging that 100-400mm Canon that is actually my first choice over 70-200mm but for some reason I went first with 70-200mm.

ahh if only Nikon has a cheaper alternative than the 200-500mm I would probably get one... 70-300mm is just too short, I had one for a while and it was pretty sharp but the lens is too slow of lowlight at f/5.6 at 300mm so I gave it to my bro and bought the 70-200mm VRII :D

you gonna watch Pacquiao? awesome!!! hahaha I can't watch it so I just have to rely on news

I shot this is manual mode, 1/3200, f/4.5 ISO 200. there were a lot of them hovering around but we were in a hurry and was more interested in shooting landscape so those were the only shots I got. I was looking around for one that would actually land but I did not notice any

Steven, I like the first shot. It looks like the sun was behind the bird and I love the way the feathers are a bit transluscent. Plus the kung-Fu stance of his partner.

I've had the 100-400mm for awhile now and I'm still learning how to use 'em properly.
