I was standing on the part of Quezon bridge that crosses over Palanca St. My lens was pointed north west towards SM Clearance Store (building with the formerly evolving top floor).

Look at the Google Maps link you posted. It shows Quezon bridge crossing over Palanca.

Never mentioned Carriedo as I never set foot on the street or eyeball it. I'm also not monk3y.

To further clarify I was photographing the south eastern face of SM Clearance Store.

After traveling to former colonies such as Singapore and Hong Kong I could imagine how Manila would have looked like if the economy of the Philippines were still second to Japan. Makes me wish I was born after WWII to appreciate the city more.

BTW SM Clearance Store appears to be a rehab old building. What was that building before?

The rehabilitated building used to be a hotel, I may remember the name later and post here, in downtown at the end of Avenida Rizal. That round thing on top used to be a revolving restaurant.

I was the one who mentioned Carriedo, as when I said Villalobos, (old name of C Palanca)the reply was it did not go to SM, so I thought of Carriedo that goes to the old SM near Ideal theater.

My posting re Tutuban was directed to Steven, Monkey3.

Cheers,
Tony

From what I understood from the old timers the old SM was demolished. Too bad as well as you could consider it a historical landmark.

I doubt it I was behind the bushes and was only using a 70-200mm IS I. I was worried that I didn't have my focus pat down when I took the shot. This would make a wonderful entry for complementary colors. :)
