The shot of our eldest was the result of him looking at something on the ground...and I "psssst" at him to get his attention, and he looked my way and I snapped the picture ;-)a

The shot of my youngest was during the phase when babies must put everything in their mouth... I know it would have been nice to have his face more balanced in the picture, but sometimes you just can't compose a baby that changes their activity and attention every two seconds..;)

Hope you like them, and please c&c if you desire! I like to learn and improve.

The first one is a wonderful picture! The second would be good if the vertical pole wasn't there.

Thanks for the comments. The paint was not lead and I wish the pole was not there either, but that's life as it happens ;-)a

Great shots!

You just can't go wrong with outside pictures in the fall, such awesome colors. I love the first picture, I'm always trying that same trick with my boys..."Hey look over here!". As far as the second shot is concerned, I think it is fine, verticle pole and all. Thanks for sharing!

Great shots, especially the first.
Ain't it great to shoot on cloudy days?

I like both images but really like the 1st one. Here is my version ... darkened, saturation strengthened, cropped, and he was put into the position of the 4th quadrant of composition.

I dig 'em. Have to chime in and say that the first does more for me on a visual level - and I like the way that the faded/dirty denim and fatigued/splotchy hoodie he's wearing work well with the background. The second one is cute though!

Looking now at the your first pic and comparing it with D. Craig Flory's edit, I can say that it confirms what I noticed which was that the ground he's standing on seems a bit blown out to me on the lighter spots. But still it's a fine shot. :D

Quite new to all this.

Image Editing is just fine.
