These are a few of my first shots with the new Bees. As a matter of fact these are a few of my first shots with studio flashes period. Any and all advice is welcomed. The pics are of my ever ready to model daughter or "Fashion Girl" as she likes to be called :D

I think they turned out very well. And you're so lucky to have your own private Fashion Girl.

Wonderful images.
Not much I can add, may be a back light reflector or a hair highlight from behind...
Well done.

They look good to me. You are so lucky to have a pretty and willing model.

Thank you for the comments. Yes I am lucky to have such a wonderful model. I bought an 800 for main and 400 for things like hair and background light but not yet sure how that setup goes so that I don't overpower my desired look. Still learning ratios. l

Your color balance is good and your lighting ratio is excellent. I'd only change three things. #1 You need light on the background. #2 Lower your key light just a touch ... you almost have a perfect loop lighting. #3 Take out the secondary catch light. You should end up with only one catch light.

Overall, excellent 1st attempt ! Read a lot of lighting and practice.

You definately need a hair light for subjects with darker hair, i think its a bit dark from the right side and definately when your using backdrops - iron out the wrinkles :)

Looks good for first attempt. I have yet to try studio work. Most of my stuff is documenting charity events. You have some great advice in this thread.

WOW! thanks for the great comments. Coming from people whose threads I have followed means a lot to me. PIXI I agree about the hair light, hope to work that out in the set-up. About the backdrop, I was so excited when the flashes came in that I just grabbed one and threw it up (kinda like a kid with a new toy...who needs instructions the first day? LOL). I know I have lots more learning and tons of practice to do so I hope things get better from here.
I found this website (I'll post it in the lighting forum also) that I have been reading.

Again thanks everyone for the comments.

They look good. I'm glad you shared these. I was thinking about buying some Bees too.
