Do people actually buy the kit lens seperately?

I listed mine for $60 I believe and it sold in less than 20 minutes, for what it costs it is a good deal for a decent wide angle.


I'm taking pictures of everything, so go ahead and take this place away from me.

Many are satisfied with this lens for general shooting. In my opinion, its a $100 lens thats worth $200, but that you can pick up for $50 easily.

Now, when shooting professional portraits if you compare this lens to others, you will see a difference in clerity of facial features, especially the eyes, and the resolving power is not as good as a sharper lens. The 17-85 IS kit lens is much sharper.

I personally, am a Fan of the kit lens.
It shoots great pictures, its pretty wide.
Handles portraits decent with a External Flash.
