I set this up on the 14 day trial on www.smugmug.com (external link) and I have not decided to keep it yet. Then Ofcourse I would get my own domain name and loose the smugmug.com part.

What do you think? Be as harsh as necessary please.

Thanks.

Any thing that could be changed to make my pictures look more professional/ pleasing as far as the sites go?

All in all the site and pics look pretty good. Not sure about making the photo's look more professional/pleasing...possibly you could add a vignette or border to some of them, but that is a matter of you and/or the viewers' personal tastes. A few things I would change are:
1) Capitalize your last name at the top of the page.
2) Move your services up into the "Welcome" part of the page, rather than having it in the galleries. I suggest this 1, to put the services you offer front and center and 2, because when I clicked it I expected to see pictures of you performing the services or shots of your business, etc.
3) Your introduction paragraph doesn't seem to flow very well in my opinion. Personally, I would combine your first and second sentences into one longer sentence, however, that is my own personal preference (shaped by 4 years of instruction by a nice, but very brutal english professor), so it's up to you.

Also, I'm not sure, as comma rules are bane of my existence, but I don't think that you need them in the sentence that starts with "My services include..." because you are using a "from this to this" format, rather than a "this, this, this" list type format...if that makes any sense at all. :)

Good looking site, might have to try smugmug out for myself.

I would suggest making your protected galleries private too that way they don't show on your homepage but you can still send a link to those you give the password to with sharegroups.

I'd probably clone out the random foot in that one "portrait".

Very, very slow loading. I agree about hiding the password protected galleries....anyone that needs to know about them should have a link.

Yup - very slow load, as are many of these type locations.

The galleries have that clean gray/black look that seems to be the popular appearance right now.

Heres mine for reference:

Loaded just fine for me. I'm right across the river in Vancouver also but depending on where the server hosting this site is located, that most likely doesn't mean anything.

Is there any way to take the "Jim Yeager's Home" Out completely?

Also How can I put my services at the top middle?

Your site looks OK... it might not be this way for someone never having seen smugmug before, but I would prefer, alomst insist on, something other than the default theme. You could also spice the site up with a navbar. You can look at my site or at dgrin for an example.

Jim,

Go to control p anel, customise (near the bottom). You will have a creen with lots of white boxes. THe first big one is labelled CSS

Copy and paste the script I gave into this box and click update right at the bottom.

(all this assumes you have a pro account right?)
