Is there some reason Sigma4Less can't keep this lens in stock? Its fairly new, they aren't going to replace it soon, right?

I've been waiting for almost a month and they havn't had any in stock. I'm on the email and call list for when it comes in stock as well.

I'd buy it from B&H, but theres a $140 price difference.

Its driving me nuts.

I snagged one on ebay for $475. AF cam was busted so I had to have Sigma fix it so that cost me an extra $110. Total $585 + shipping charges

The newer version is the Macro version of it..The older DG version isnt made anymore so they are only selling whats left. There is no sign they are going to stop making this lens anytime soon

Well, that'd explain it. They should update their website. The original version, which pops up first when you search, says "This item is discontinued" and then gives a link to the "updated" version. It links to this one: http://www.sigma4less.com …2B%3D28SG70200F28DCA%3D29 (external link)

I feel like a tard now. Oh well, at least I can order it now :)

Looking forward to seeing some images with it! :) I have had a great love affair with mine. It is heavy, but so worth it!

OS would be awsome and I bet the price wouldnt go up TOOOO much...probably to like 1100
I really doubt they are going to have the DG version in..even though it says call.
The new macro is the newest version of the lens. My buddy tried to order that non macro DG month ago for his nikon and they have none..he had to get the macro one

I don't care which version I get, I don't have a preference, I just didn't realize there were three models of this lens. I thought there were only two, the original and then the updated DG version.

I'd love to see OS on this lens, I seriously considered this lens, but ended up getting the Canon 70-300 IS for the extra reach and IS. However this lens is still on my radar and I may get it someday... For now I wanted to maximize my bang for the buck and refine my lens collection over the coming years.... =_) Besides I'm a noob and as I gain experience my needs may change... Or most likely will! =_)

2.8 is way more effective than IS or OS...
