Wouldn't this be worth WAY more then the $900 he is asking???

For sale is a CANON 20D with 18-55 Kit lense in MINT condition along with 3 other lenses. The lenses included are the:

CANON 24-70L Ultrasonic with lens hood and case

CANON 28-105 Ultrasonic

QUANTARAY 70-300

All lenses will come with clear filters for protection. The kit includes battery, charger, strap, software, manuals, charger, and a blank warranty card (US warranty). Camera is 5 months old with 247 actuations, and you get the rest of 2 year warranty. I am also including a 1GB Compact Flash Card.

Every piece of equipment here is very very lightly used and shows no signs of usage, everything is in MINT condition.

the 24-70L itself is worth more than $900... if it sounds too good to be true, it's probably a scam.

thats what i'm thinking, but the guy wants to do a listing thru ebay so that i am covered. he owns a super expensive nikon now and wants to get rid of his canon gear.
i basically only want it for the 24-70L...i'll sell the rest

listing thru ebay is effectively NO PROTECTION! I bought a used DVD Recorder thru ebay, listed as working but 'as is', which my interpretation was 'kinda worn, maybe missing remote control'...but it arrived with NO ABILITY to record! So I tried to get seller to cancel the purchase, which he refused. I appealed to ebay and their response was essentially 'tough luck, guy!'.

Could be a legitimate offering of good, stolen equipment!

Yes, I had the same experience. Bought an expensive DVD and paid through paypal. Buyer protection. They could get no money out of the guy so he got away with my money and provided nothing in return. Neither ebay nor paypal did anything. You are protected on paper only.

COD

Cash on delivery

Tell him you'll toss in a $20 for doing so. I'll never buy 2nd hand again (got scammed/burned) unless its from here or FM with awesome feedback.

I would not touch such a deal because $900 is a lot of money, no matter if you get the stuff or not. Lose that and you will regret it. Not worth the trouble. Getting gear takes time if you can't pay for it all at once. And once you get what you think you need, there's always something new and better out there. Sorry.

It's true what they say about the protection on Ebay and Paypal. I have tried to het my money back too but it's impossible. Paypal is really a bunch of thiefs.
