I've climbed in dumpsters to bleach them for minimum wage, mucked stalls just so the gf's parents would like me, and shingled a house in 100 degree heat for a McDonald's meal...

...i't's all better than dealing with a Bridezilla or even worse...mother-of-the-bride-zilla...

My sister just retired 2 years ago to take care of our mother. She isn't paid to do the work, but she does it out of duty. I guess Ronald here is a good son, so don't give him too much grief. He's just missing life, so that's his choice. Love to find you a nice friend or two just to have lunch with or even just to relax and watch a good movie with. I feel badly for my sister who can't leave the apartment because my mother gets too nervous without her.

anyway, I stray.

I worked in a Chinese speaking only sweat shop when I was a teenager. I mainly cut thread off the garments after the ladies killed them through their sewing machines. I took in fabric into my system for a whole summer before realizing I could have worn a mask. I don't know how those ladies live so long. And my husband worked in a gold mine in the summer between college semesters. He chopped wood for supports. It was a good paying job and helped through college. But the worst of us both was when he washed dishes for the largest cafateria at college and came home smelling like a dumpster. Those were the days. Now he's a lawyer. :)

However, there are different kinda hardships and toil....think of emotional stress ! As an example, my long suffering little old lady was working as a psychiatric nurse until we both took our retirement. I could not have done her job for a day, that's all I can tell ya now.

Ohhh, the memories. I washed dishes for two years in the largest dorm cafeteria at college for 2 years as well. I could never eat the free meals they offered us...Yuck!!

All nursing is psych work these days, Peter. I have never seen so many people on anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds and sleeping pills up the whazoo. Makes me really worried about how much in control of us the drug companies are......

I hear ya.;) But unless you have worked the sweat of your palms and brows, backbreaking toil and dirt sweepin' mind numbing work day after day......it's kinda different. Like, how easily can an office white collar worker today relate to the old time farm life ?

I definately can. Worked plenty with my hands both before, during, and after college. Baled hay, walked beans, as a lad. Worked in a packing plant during college. Now I toil away with young minds. Much more pleasant, but I do know what it is like to work and work hard.

oh I agree.. I mean if you really truly need the meds than I believe that you should have them... lord knows I have to have mine.. But, sleeping pills and anti-depressents and kids on all kinds of things because their hyper.... makes me wonder just how necessary they are or if people are just to lazy to deal with their issues without chemical assistance...

Tell me about it.
Between the particle physics, neuro surgery, and slopping around in filthy alien bivouacs, I barely have any time left over for my normal hard rocken' lifestyle! :(

All this talk of hard work has convinced me,
I'm sending a donation to ArnoldSr Jr. for his router fund.

oh. dear.. lets see. Ron is our resident talker... and I mean talker... you think Tim or CDS talks a lot.. well, you haven't seen anything until you've seen Ron.. he's notorious for his buy/sell philosophy and gets teased a great deal by Condyk... what started it i'm not sure but they have a great time taking swipes at eachother.....

Oh ron!.... oh ron..... come introduce yourself...........:p:p:p
