Oct 25, 2006 21:43 | #1 These were taken at Quivera National Wildlife Refuge last weekend. The Sandhill Crane count was 120,000, but not one was within photo range. I did get many other species, including these in-flight shots of American White Pelicans. C&C welcome.

Thanks, Stephen. There were about 50-70 pelicans taking off from a marsh, and they flew toward the sun, as in the first shot, and then flew back, which resulted in the backlit shots. I caught them right before leaving the refuge.
