I would really like to find some sort of protective skin for my a620 - rather like the rubbery skins you can buy for ipods - not a case, have that, and not the super thin clear scratch resistant stickers that you can buy that offer no protection for dropping. I know nothing will make it drop-proof, but even a rather thin thing of rubber can make a difference between a total loss and a close call.

I'd also like to hear any other suggestions for how to keep my camera alive. I do have the LCD screen covered with a screen protector, having learned the hard way in the past with my palm pilots. I hope to get a lens adaptor and a UV filter or something soon as well to add some protection there. I take it everywhere and already forgot it was in my bag once and it got banged up, though that was before I had a decent case. Speaking of which, I found a very cheap (around $10 at Target) denali case that is a perfect fit for the camera, extra 4 AA batteries, tiny bottle of lens cleaner and lens papers - even squeezed in the LCD hood I made (got sick of not seeing a thing in bright light). What sets it aside from other similar ones is: top opening, just unsnap (if snappedl otherwise just unvelcro) top flap and camera can be lifted out, as compaired to many that you have to unzip, belt loop that can be released yet is very sturdy (velcro, plus extra flap with velcro, if that makes sense), and it is sewn in such a way that the edges stick out a bit, affording a good deal extra padding - much more padding all around than the others I saw. Just thought I'd share that in case someone else is hunting for case. They make a few that fit this size camera but only this one had these features.
