All I am looking for is something that will be easy to remember. It will also be my website domain name probably followed by photography "www.?????photography.com"

Open to any ideas please!! I would just like people to remember it when they hear it.

So far I was thinking:

panic photography

or

sunshine photography

any ideas?

Hiya,

In theory I like the name panic, its zippy. But on 2nd consideration - who wants to hire a photographer who panics, gets flustered etc - and while I am sure this isn't you - the connotation is there.

Sunshine... I find it blah. nothing special. A bit boring.

You don't want to use your name? so and so photography?

It took my business partner and myself aaaaaages to come up with a business name. We eventually settled on Sierra Nova Photographics. Origionally were going to go with the call signs for each of our first name initials, but then decided November sounded sucky, so went with Nova.. if that makes any sense.

As for ideas for you... I'm thinking, but a business name is a pretty personal idea.

Maybe it would help if we knew what kind of photography you shot?

Hope this ramble helps in some form!
Naomi

I think I would ditch any thoughts of using Panic Photography....not a real reassuring name for the clients.

I asked this same question way back and got a lot of sarcastic responses. But what I did learn is that YOU have to choose or create it. Sit down at your desk and think...think hard. And then it will HIT you. That's what happened to me! ;)

Not sure why this is in the "Cornering Pro's" section - but anyway, don't panic, and DON'T call yourself Panic Photographic - although hey, that rhymes! (unless you don't aim to be very busy!)

I saw a realtor, whose company name was "Thisledew" and their catch phrase was "This will do!"

Change your name to Don and it can be Don Panic Photography.

Why not your name like Bob Smith Photography?

Or it could be Photography by Bob Smith, Or Images by Bob... or something like that...

Marketers will tell you this is not a matter to be taken lightly. I've worked on some product name projects and they can be tough. Usually, it helps to think about two things. One, what you think your clients want. And two, what you or your team are planning to deliver. That is to say your "brand" or style of photography. Amass some terms that describe what you envision and then work up some ideas. Don't rush it...sometimes things will look better or worse the day after.
