Just from Photoscouts thread, whats the wierdest thing you have done to get a new bit of kit? that new lense you've wanted for ages?

There must be so pretty crack up lengths that people have gone to.

Sold the security system out of our house and used the proceeds for a 70-200 f/4, and oddly a better securty system.

If I hide the receipts then things don't exist, right? :)

Although my Canon Fever is pretty manageable, I've been working double shifts at work and earmarking the extra money for lenses and for another camera body. As exhausting as the work can be, the hunger for another lens fuels the drive. I guess I'm crazy because I can't stop!!!!

Haven't had to do anything yet, but it looks like I'm actually going to work at Wal-Mart just to fund camera gear. Now that's desperate.

Well after stripping for 2 years I gathered up enough dollarbills to purchase a body, from there I simply planted foreign objects into my meals at large restraunt chains until I had a really good fake choking case lawsuit, that paid for my lenses. Now I am giving up the crack and getting healthy and I am going to sell some of my organs for a better body (no pun intended).

Actually I just saved up for awhile and spent what had to have been like 6k on camera stuff by the end. It is a understatement to say that I'm hooked now on cameras.

Bought a Tamron 17-50 last week. Found it too whiny. Called the store if they will accept store credit, they did. 4:15, left work from Irvine, CA. 5:10, arrived home in Fullerton. Talked with roommate, left around 5:50. Arrived at the store in Santa Ana, 6:30. Processed store credit, paid another 800ish for the Canon 17-55 USM IS.
I was in hurry to lose more money :(
