I lost my first today off the 1Ds. Oddly, I have one at home that I found on a remote beach here in Turks & Caicos - literally in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure I know where I lost it as I shot in two very small and static spots today with 20 feet to the car.

You?

Lost 2. Mainly because the little finger clamps that hold them in keep breaking. I got an eye piece extender and it has the same problem. I finally started inserting shims made of paper to hold the eye pieces in place and haven't had a problem since.

Now...I hate to potentially embarass you, but..is there any chance that the one you found is..yours? Maybe it got into your clothing or something and fell out while on that beach.

Just a thought. Now it's your turn to shoot it down. ;-)a

I've never lost one, but I had one damaged - my pet rats decided that the camera was a nice thing to chew...thankfully, that's all they chewed (was for my eos1n). It isn't totally destroyed (they mustn't like the taste of rubber lol). No, I didn't know which rat did it (I have more than one). And no, I'm not going to punish them (it was several years ago anyways, said rats have long since passed onto the rainbow bridge). And yes, I did actually have it high up, lil b*tches climbed up and got into this cupboard...

Almost lost one in an auto show but was able to find it laying on the floor just before a kid was about to pick it up. I now have black electrical tape on top to prevent it from slipping out again.

I lost one off my Elan 7ne. It never sat on very tightly though. I've noticed that 1D ebay sales almost always show the camera sans cup.
