I've been really busy shooting football and volleyball this season, but have been remiss about posting. Here are a few faves from the Lions' football season thus far. Oh, and by the way, we're in the playoffs! Game one is on Saturday afternoon. Yes, fellas, I get to shoot in the daytime! :D

#1: This kid had been out for four games. Upon his return, he ran 74 yards for a touchdown.

#2: Though this one isn't particularly a good photo, the story that goes with it is. This big fella, #73, is a lineman and never gets to carry the ball. But this time he got his chance. An opponent fumbled the ball, and it bounced up and into this kid's arms! He ran really hard for a big kid and managed to advance about 30 yards.

#3: Although it looks like the ball will be intercepted in this play, it wasn't.

Thanks. I've been using the Sigma 70-200 on one body and the 200L on the other one. The settings vary with the amount of light, but lately I've been shooting a lot at ISO 3200, f/2.8, and 1/250. Sometimes I have to adjust to compensate for the light fall off at the ends of the field.

Maybe we'll see you in Champaign this year. Good luck in the playoffs, I have a game to shoot tonight and one tomorrow.

Liza,
Hopefully Marshall will make it to Champaign and several members of POTN can meet up. I cover the Aledo games and any Olympic conference teams. Good luck

Nah, we're 3A. Our enrollment is only 466, but our team has 68 members. Needless to say, football is popular in our tiny little town.

And thanks for the encouragement. We're hoping against hope to make it to Champaign, too. Tomorrow will be a real test, since it's been raining here for two days, and the field is muddy. I'm covering the game for one of the area papers, so I'll be on the sidelines freezing my butt off all afternoon. :)

I was pretty close considering I was going from memory!

I see the sun is out this morning, at least it stopped raining. Last nights game was a very exciting and muddy affair!

Thanks for looking!

Nice photos, and I like the way you put some information with them. Sorry to hear your team lost. Is this middle school or high school? If it's high school, your playoffs start a lot earlier than ours.

Liza,
Kind of sad to see the football season winding down, but basketball is just round the corner. My son's Little League Football team has made the playoffs.....Lower bracket playing the top seed but they are there at least. Keep posting I miss your stuff.

Thanks, Rick. I can't wait for basketball season to begin. I have one more college football game to shoot and then girls b-ball starts on the 13th. Basketball is really my sport of choice.
