I haven't done any reading on studio lighting yet, but I thought I'd give it a shot and see what I could come up with. I used 2 silver umbrellas with them. Canon 30D, 100 ISO, f5.6, shutter speed 1/250. No editing except resize and eye sharpening. Any C&C is welcome

Oct 26, 2006 23:08 | #2 try f8 or f10, bump up the lights, it looks dark to me. Try raising one higher to light the hair, it's blending with the background. Ray

Oct 26, 2006 23:35 | #4 It will increase your depth of field, making more of the image in focus. With a black background, you do want it all black right? So make sure you have no light spill on the background and try to light the hair so it won't blend into it (the background). Ray

I'd use that for fill and the other light for the hairlight. I usually shoot at f8 but if you have enough light it should be okay either way. I do recommned getting a lightmeter, to save yourself the time and headache.
