How much does a pair like those run? Mine are 7-21, so they have the same zoom on the long end, but mine go a bit closer I guess on the close end? But my binoculars have larger lenses I guess (that must be the x40 part). What does the lens size matter? In camera lenses I know it affects the aperture, but not sure about binoculars. It's the same thing with the binoculars. The larger the front lens, the brighter the view through the binocular is. When it starts to get dark, that's when you'll really appreciate your wider aperture on the binoculars, just like with cameras having the faster lenses. ...Leo

Although I have to admit, there is definitley a lot less glass on my binoculars, so I am guessing their optics work a lot different then a cameras lens, because I take a look at night and it's not all that bad looking through my window, I can actually see quite a bit of stuff. I can't seem to see much of a difference regardless of which way I adjust it. Not on binoculars, it isn't. As long as everything's in focus to you, it's fine. On a camera, it's far more important, because there's a difference between looking focused and being focused. Mac users swear by their computers. PC users swear at theirs.

I can't seem to see much of a difference regardless of which way I adjust it. This is how you'd adjust that. First close the eye that has the diopter adjuster on it and focus the binocular using the focusing knob. Once it's in focus, close that eye and open the other eye and adjust the diopter until what you see is just as clear. ...Leo
