This is a quick shot of my son, read this thread for more info on my small garage setup.

http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=232606

I didnt have time to mess setting up both of my ex flash units tonight so this is just my 580ex and continuous backlight and some pp, dont really know what im doing to be honest but years as a 3d artist seem to help me a little thinking about light placement etc.

fire away with any comments.

Carl

Nice shot - while the back-light is giving a good effect, I think it's a little overwhelming as it appears too strong to me, maybe making the main subject appear a little flat - if that makes sense!

(did you get that model release form for the bear that I asked about in a previous thread? ;-)a)

Also, just noticed that your DOF is a little shallow, (unless that was your intention) making the bear a little OOF. Sorry, don't mean to appear picky, just saying what I see! :-)

What a cute little fella! Might wanna fix the pick in his sweater. I like the plexi-glass. I am not a fan of the background. Green seems to be seeming in...

thanks again teejay, the comments about the lighting are spot on but the depth of field i need toplay with, im concerned about the edge of the plexi showing up to much as i dont have to much room, but im sure i will get the best value after a bit of playing.

A logical rule is to not mix warm and cool colors. The background is warm and the child is wearing cool colors. That's part of the reason for the color shift in the skin.
