Hi Guys,

Really quick question here. I am into event photography and creating the final product (collages with multiple images) on-site. What software package would you guys suggest using on Mac OS, taking into consideration that all the importing and organization is done in Aperture?

I could set up actions in Photoshop, but, it is not me who will be doing the collages themselves and I would like a more user-friendly software package.

I really really like lumapix foto fusion, but it is not for Mac OS.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Bryan

Sorry, to make it clear, I am looking for a program that will aid/make it easy to actually take the original images and put them into some kind of collage/picture layout.

"collages with multiple images" for what? An pic example would help.
Have you looked at Templates (Sports, etc)? Maybe you could make one that would be easy to use.
Or will you be doing something much more complex like this?

Aperture has this function it's called Light Table
You can make collage there

The other option would be to create a book layout to your satisfaction and load different images there, same result

I am looking for a page with 1 - 5pictures (depending on what customer wants) with maybe a title and the name. Nothing too fancy.

The book option is a definite possibility - but can i selected x number of images (say 4), and create just ONE page with that without having to create the whole book and delete pages?

yes this is exactly what you can do
create a layout and text that you like

then you need to copy this layout let's say to a project with 4 picture, those 4 pictures will appear there. This way you don;t need to recreate it every time

Could you give me a hand and/or links to how this can be done? I am relatively new to aperture.

My only concern is:

Does this book print as an 8 x 10? As this is the general size I'm going to be needing.

Just use manual
you can modify design and size youself
The idea is that you can make a 1 page book, and format it to what you want and then reuse the same layout in different projects

Use manual? When I go to delete all the pages in a book, it leaves the cover page and I can't delete that. Also, how do I make it 8.5 x 11 portrait instead of landscape?

So I will have a 1 page book, but how do I make it so that's the default? Instead of creating a new book with a pre-designed template.

It looks like you have a MacBook Pro, so if you want to use a program that OSX does not support just install windows. Also you could install parallels, but it tends to eat up memory.

I am just thinking of the most efficient, effective and quickest way of doing this. From having a photo in aperture to get it into a Windows Program, I'd have to export the photo, share it, then boot up windows, yada yada.

I really like the idea of customizing books in Aperture. Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of the "cover". That way you have a 1 page book without a cover?

Any other advice on customizing books in Aperture is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Bryan

Otherwise known as a picture? :D

Yeah, but I mean in Aperture, it is referred to as a Book. One user suggested using this to make the collage to make a "one page book" but I can't seem to get rid of the "cover page".
