Pics taken @ 1.8 and 8 on AV mode with an XT Rebel with a Tiffen CPL filter.
My camera has some very slight front focusing issues but its not that big of a deal.

I'll let the pics do the talking.

It looks okay for 1.8.

There is no point to using f/1.8 in bright daylight anyways

These images are too big for the forum. 800pixels on the longest end max per forum rules.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I'd advise more practice with it before writing it off completely.

This lens is number three on my list and my list only has three numbers (it had better stay that way). I refuse to let this post bump it to number two. If I like it the 17-40 may be on its way out and I rarely sell stuff off.

That last post was a desperate attempt to catch up to suzy's post count. We have both been here for about the same time.

So is this post,......... also the wine.

The one with the flower looks decent at 1.8 which makes me think it should be useable, but those 2 street shots look pretty bad to me. Perhaps it has trouble focusing at longer distances? I'd give it a bit more time to make sure it's the lens and not technique.

I'm taking pictures of everything, so go ahead and take this place away from me.

Mine was soft enough that it is now gone. My 17-55 was sharper at 20mm and 2.8 than the sigma at 2.8. I did not see the value of keeping a f/1.8 lens around that wasn't useful (to me) until about f4.

If you're concerned, send it in! A cheap way to figure out if it's the lens, body, or you. ;)

Errr.......Because ONE person posted a thread about potentially iffy performance? Seriously? Just to get this straight, this ONE person has caused you to doubt the lens?
