Sell your glass a week after you get it if there is a better piece in it's league, that way you can always tell yourself you tried the lower end model and was not happy with it so you had an exscuse to buy the more expensive one.

(Just playing.)

Ive already upgraded all my glass once except for 1 the Bigma. I have gone through about 5 lens in the last year. 18-55 55-200 50F1.8 Sigma 24-70 Canon 70-200 F4 and 1 20D

Yes sell. The advantage is they would be easier to get back than try to save up for a Canon 24-??? L

Well save up, but if you sell, you just get quicker amounts of money towards the savings. At the very least, you'll probably sell 1/3 within the next month, i'd bet. If you act now, you could do the rebates(if they are applicable to you).

Part of selling the glass is dealing with the heartbreak and the "what if I need it". I can tell you that is not easy. I would like to move my macro to full frame (60mm EF-S doesn't mount on a 5D even after you re-engineer the mount - ask me how I know), but don't want to let go of the 60 for fear I'll miss it.

Let me know if you guys ever work out a solution to this....

I'm a firm believer in my shooting telling me what I need. Yours is telling you that you'd rather have a single zoom than a set of primes, so that's what you should have.

I would say sell it and go for the 24-70 f2.8 it will be a good complement for your 70-200 f2.8

A good choice! You can always reaquire any primes you find you need in the future.

And BTW, you already had L fever - this wasn't your first, was it?

Very good choice. One of my favourite lenses. It's not all about sharpness or anything else for me. It's about a combination of consistency, colour, reliability, USM, IS, sharpness, range and just genuine all round usefulness in so many instances. There isn't really asnother lens that ticks so many boxes as a workhorse for most genral users. You did good ;-)a

Ahh, i would have hoped for the 24-70 2.8, but the 24-105 is nice too.

May upgrade next year :) Went for the 24-105 as a test to see what it was like, also it was a straight swap with no cash comming out of my Bank account which made my wife very happy.

im in a similar boat. I can't remember last time i used my kit lens. I can't stand my sigma 24-135 that much anymore. and i bought a sigma 70-300 non apo version last summer but once i got the sigma 7-200 f/2.8 i've used it twice.

B&h quoted me $150 for the kit lens and the sigma 70-300 and $100 for the sigma 24-135. It just sucks as the last sigma i mentioned is less then a year old and in very good conditon and i paid $400 new.

But if i did get rid of all 3 i'de have a wide angle,70-200, and nifty fifty. Do I go non L prime? Do i save up for the 24-105 F/4L? Dont know what to do.
