Hey all,

had a photo shoot with my wife and my mother in low ( AKA the model and the designer ) for my mother in low's bridel saloon. We went out today to shot some of her models for her web site. It was a preety cloudy day ( that is unusual over here) but we had a gap betwen the clouds and got some decenet shots.

any c&c will be great

Shot with the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8

f/8 , 1/250 , iso-100 , WB- cloudy , 430EX , 44mm

I thought that #2 was too tight -- it did not give any context or perspective. I thought that #1 nicely captured a bride contemplating. I think the cloudiness actually contributed to the photo -- it kept the focus on the subject. Nice work.

Thank you for your replies.

Waterman- picture #2 was a simple crop of #1. it was only done to show the ability of the lens. I probably could have croped it otherwise but did not have any other good idea on how to do that.

The only think I would say is that I was always taught never to have fists/knuckles as it looks as if she's ready for a fight, there are other more elegance ways for her hands that are not so threatening, especially for a wedding shot. Love the lighting.

I think you had good lighting but I would not know that you were selling a dress. It looks more like a snapshot. May I suggest looking a posing? I think you will find if you study those techniques, you will have more ideas for posing your model to sell the dress. Hope this helps!

WOW!!! i love it! because i am not a pro, and don't knoe all the nick-nacks about photography, i don't know how valid my opinions are but...

I think #1 is perfect! you got all of the dress in the shot, her skin looks beautiful in the sunlight, i love the expression in her face, and the crop was awesome.

-Only thing to say is the overall output is soft (but i am thinking because of WEB formatting?) and #2 is a bit too tight for my taste right now. I have to be in the mood for a tight crop :)

Keep it up!

He still has one more move.
