During the 2nd World War, they mined crystals there which were used in the bomb-sights of our bombers. Nothing real fancy, and no dangerous mineshafts, looked like it was all surface mining, but it is an interesting side trip. there's little patches of snow but no... nothing is sticking just yet. But, I went out and bought my snowboots I know that when it does get here it will be pretty extreme.. If you have specific directions i'll go the old mine... just for kicks...
