I think you can get them new for about $650 USD, so used, in excellent condition, I'd say 80-90% of retail price. L's tend to hold their value quite well.

OT: Luckie8, I have a question regarding all your sales.

Why is it that all of your equipments that you sold are brand new? And why do you keep on buying lenses and resell them at loss?

I sold my 350D with my 17-40L and 85 f/1.8 to fund a 30D purcahse. Then I realized how much I missed my 17-40L and went out bought another one. I had this 17-40L sitting here for 2 months with no body to use it while I was looking for a cheap 30D then I heard about the Canon double rebate was coming out. At that time I have spent some of my money and ended up selling my 17-40L to fund my 30D purchase.

Then I tried a few third party walkaround lenses to save some $$$ but they dont really impress me. I guess cause I compare them with L lenses. So instead of me sending them back and getting hitted a restocking fee, why not let fella POTN members take advantage and save some money. Isn't that what this forum is all about? To help each other out, right? Either way I'm losing some money.

Now I know not to cheap out and get the best.. Canon L lenses are always going to be in my bag.
Dang I need to stop reading this forum. It has cost me a lot of money.
