hey, sorry it took so long to respond, i'm not used to such quick responses. i love this board.

i'll turn on image editing. no problem.

as far as learning how to do white balance adjustments, let me have it. i feel that's my main problem. i have the original raw on all of these.

any directions you can point me in on WB fixing, i'm all ears/eyes :D

i don't get my feelings hurt easily, so i respect all your honesty greatly. here to learn. :)

Here's my edit. I adjusted the white balance by using two seperate curves layers. One for the whites I used the white eye dropper on the eyes. Then I pulled it back a little, because eyes are never truly white. For that I used a second layer for the grays by using the grey eye dropper on the brick mortar. Then I sharpened.
Hopefully it looks ok I'm not on a calibrated monitor today.

Good balancing even with an uncalibrated monitor. I was lazy and used a cool photo filter (the way you'd do it back in film days). I didn't want to entirely get rid of the warmth of the shot either so I applied it lightly.

The last edits really show how good these photos can be!

You have great material to work with here, with a beautiful model and great composition - at least on the first one. On the second I feel like the wall is crushing her or about to... took me a while of looking at it to figure out what it was I didn't like about it, but finally settled on that.

Good work.

i don't understand curves layers whatsoever.

the only thing about whitebalance i know is the slider's in bibble, and i know that's not nearly enough.

any help on explaining this, and some resources on curves adjustments would be greatly appreciated. i feel that's the only things holding me back :S

Using curves to affect white balance is kind of a last ditch effort for me. Your much better off using your RAW processor to get the balance right. I've never used Bibble so I can't advise you on the exact process. But the program I've always liked is Rawshooter. Since they were bought out I use Adobe Lightroom. If the controls are anything like Bibble you'll have several presets for white balance i.e. flash, daylight and as shot. In addition there is an eye dropper which you can use to select something white in the image. I use the custom white balance on my camera and then during post processing I use the eyedropper to "sample" several white points in the image to ensure my balance is correct. If there are no true white points I rely on the presets to double check my balance.
As for curves I find that command invaluable for dealing with contrast and shadows. Here's a good tutorial.

Hope this helps.

Very nice shots. Your last edit is better. Brighten up those fantastic eyes and teeth just a little.

I think that is far better than the original post...white balance was off on earlier renditions...I might do a slight skin smoothing to even out the facial tone...not on a calibrated monitor at the moment, so my edit might be off...

I like the 1st image but her bust is brighter than her face. I'm posting my version ... bust not as bright and enhanced overall. I cut off her arm below the sleeve. I made it into a step-mount so as to put her in the upper left 2nd quadrant for good composition.

Beautiful model! You need a little work in PP, but not bad attempt.
