So, the first outing with camera for a couple of weeks and of course it was raining....so off I popped to Bolton Abbey where I await with anticipation the colours of Autumn. But the mild weather is holding things back a bit, but still, chosing selective areas I think I managed a few keepers - let me know. :)

I was already to take this shot, perched on a rock with the Wharfe slowly swelling, and out pops this fellow, brill. He even stood still enought for a 1.6 second exposure - f16 - CPL. Had to be very careful in all cases to avoid the pointless sky!

Then I turned upstream, shiedling the lens with my umbrella - yes I got some funy looks! I hadn't noticed the faint mist, which soon disappeared, to begin with but was happy to get a shot of it.

Very dark today, especially under the trees and the mist had lifted too; I really should get out of bed earlier :)

Excellent shots, especially No.1

I maybe going up there in a few weeks with a group from another forum, hope I get some shots half as good as these.

Wonder if the fisherman will be there again

My guess is the circular polariser filter. I got a similar effect (completely by accident) in one of my shots recently.

I'd have to say that shots as good as those are always worth getting a little dirty or wet. The first and second shots are definately my favorites. I could see them being used perhaps for some sort of travel add. :)

Great work!

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

Very, very nice stuff... I quite like all three of them. Framing and choice of subject/angles are great :)

It sure was worth it to get wet! I like the first one because of the character and the mist. Looks like something from a movie.
