I have a few older FD lenses. Is there an adapter I can get to allow it to mount on an OES camera?

there are some out there. but they use lens elements and degrade the image quality. General opinon is that if you have an EF in the same range, you should just stick with that. canon did make a adapter for their larger FD superteles that gave it a slight (1.2x or so) magnification factor that was quite high quality, but is rare and goes for a high price.

Try a search on the forum here, there are a lot of threads that go into quite a lot of detail on this matter...

In a nutshell - yes, you can. But it's not worth it. You're better off adapting other lenses like Pentax, Zeiss, etc.

The short answer, as mentioned - don't bother with it. Look here:

The good adapter only works on certain Canon telephotos. It does a great job, but it involves a significant investment. The cheapie adapter ($40 on eBay) degrades the image quality and you sacrifice almost all of the autoexposure capability of the EOS body, not to mention autofocus.

I use the Canon adapter, and I love it - but it is not for everybody.

Have Fun,

Rick
