Hey All,

Here's an image that didn't make the first cut from my Big Sur trip a few weeks back. I was editing another image from the set and "found" this one:

Beautiful area up there... Did you stay up there, or was it a day trip?

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

Nicely composed and titled. I like the way that the railing leads you snaking into the person.

Very nice, but that photo of the elephant seals really steals the show! Wonderful shot.

Love your photos man.

My girlfriend is from California (Oceanside, near San Diego) and we drove that route back down after a weekend in San Francisco last year. It's an amazing place, so beautiful. I'd love to retire and move there when I'm older. We'll have to stick to good old rainy Scotland for the moment though! Haha!

Elisabeth - Thanks! The seal beach was a really great experience. I've never been much of a wildlife shooter, but that experience has me thinking about toying around more with it!

Elfy - Thanks a lot! Funny you should mention Oceanside, as that's where I was today. My boss lives down there and today was his birthday, so I went for a cookout. I'm jealous of you though, I've been wanting to visit Scotland for years!

It's a small world isn't it?

You're not missing much in Scotland right now, it's about 10 degrees celcius and raining!

Johnohio - Thanks!

Pttenn - restaurant overlooking the restaurant? :-) This trip was all about coastline views, so I didn't see too much outside of that. I'm planning on going back though to see more - Hearst Castle, Monterey, etc.

If you're going to Hearst castle, take a lens with small numbers, like 2.8, or smaller. They don't allow flash. You'll have fun shooting there, there's lots of stuff there!

Ags - my slowest lens if f/2.8, so I'm ok there :D

"small numbers' - funny way of putting it! :D
