Bethany Hamilton lost her left arm to a shark attack while surfing in her home state of Hawaii on October 31, 2003. She is 16 and now surfing professionally. An incredible girl and role model to all. These shots were taken last Saturday at Huntington Beach, CA.

Thanks Skweekie,
It was amazing to watch her surf, competing with other world class surfers and doing so well. To maintain the balance required with only one arm has to be next to impossible. Her perseverence and determination is incredible.

Just to get back in the water after such an incident at such a young age is amazing and inspiring... to be doing it professionally... just wow.

Nice shots!

Sweet. I was hoping she was still kickin' butt and takin' names. I had read about her story. VERY impressive young lady. Stronger than ever, it seems. Thanks for posting.

Very good shots. I agree that they're a little soft...but very nice.
