I did these couple pictures today. This is my wedding assistant. She gets paid with free pictures. Any way they were going to a school dance that they are supposed to dress alike.

Here are a few pictures. I think the color is off here, but am not sure. They look really blue even after I tried to correct the color. It might just be the shirts that makes it appear that way. I am not sure. They look off TO ME. Any way let me know what you think. If you want to edit some be my guest.

Let me please start off by stating the fact that your assistant, is absolutely gorgeous! I mean this in the most respectful manner! she's beautiful!

Now for the pics, i like them! the colors seem A-OK to me! if they really are off, it must be my monitor. My personal favorites are the last two!

-Only thing i could say negative is the clipping is off.

Picture 1 cuts off the young mans back side, although thats not what you want to see, he is still being cut off.

Picture 2 is ok, but as you can see, there is a "slight" clipping of the arm.

Picture 3 i think is perfect. ALthough he is clipped, it is even on both sides, making the picture OK. Her hand being cut off is less of a distraction because of this.

Picture 4... Get them closer together! LOL

Awesome!

He still has one more move.

I didn't make them get too close because I was not really sure of their relationship status. They are seniors in highschool and I think this might have been like a first date type thing. They took pictures because it was like a special occasion. You know school dance.

I always tend to clip off body parts. I hate when I do that. I have others that don't trip them off as much, but I liked the tighter crop.

HI LIndsi,

The reason you are cutting off limbs is probably due to overuse of the center of the viewfinder. Remember to Visualize the image, Set up the image, clean up the image and the shoot it. Use all the available viewfinder you have to your advantage. You are shooting too tight. Shoot 30% loose and crop down to the image you want. If you camera can - get a grid screen they are a great help.

I agree with Dante re: the armpit shot, next time have hime bend his elbow. That is a dominant pose BTW it shows possesion or ownership. Not in the literal sense but in regards to the relationship. She is not running away so at some level she agrees. Also have him remove his hands from his pockets and let it hang. And crop just under where her hand would be.

I really like 2 & 3 although he shold be hold the chain under her hand. She is in his space so....

#4 is more of a buddy shot, just kinda friends etc. Still too tight on the bottom, cutting off hands.

She likes him and you can see it in the first image, you did a good job of captureing her thoughts. When the eyes smile it is a dead giveaway :-)

I agree, she's very pretty!

Anyways!!

1 - Dominance...weird. Hand in pocket = bad. And it kind of looks like she's an amputee...
2 - Cute, I love everything about this shot, they both look relaxed. Very cute. The cutting limbs really doesn't bother me that bad, but it obviosuly bothers other people.
3 - Once again, very cute, I like the 2nd more.
4 - (I'm 15, I like saying cute) This is cute, but they do look more buddyish. Maybe even a sibling type portrait with the same clothes.
