It's a lovely shot, but how did you manage to get both eyes in focus, the angle looks like they shouldn't, given the tight DOF. I'd agree with Sam - although when I sharpen, I normally mask off everything that's OOF, as there's no point spoiling the bokeh from a decent lens - especially one like the 35L.

Well, it turned out that just the pupil and part of the one brow were in the same plane- thus in focus. Agree it looks like they should not be but if you really look close you can see that it is correct.

Finally some one agrees with Sam! :):)

My pp to this shot was some minor skin smoothing.

hehe, given the quality of his shots, I'm sure I'm one of the silent majority! Seriously though, being more selective with sharpening on shots with such a tight DOF works really well (although why I'm saying that I don't know, as you take marvellous shots, so already know that).

So, was that enough fLLatery to get you to send me your 35? Nah, the shots of your kids always make me smile - very welcome on dull autumn / winter days!

Hey Dante,

Nice work. I agree on the comments about her nose though... seems unusually sharp and my eyes are kind of drawn to it but only after the amazing eyes which are stunning.

I think I'd prefer it even more pronounced - a bit like this. Although I couldn't get rid of the 'sharp' texture without pushing NN so strong that it was more plastic than a barbie doll.
