...until it crept up on me again. Makes a welcome change from the usual stuff with a whole set of unique challenges.

The season is still only a few games old and a bit more work to do to get fully into the groove. However, here are some recent offerings (sorry for the rather rough & ready proofs but time, as always, is of the essence):

Those are absolutely great! I love the first picture with the fisheye lens.

Great shots, Gavin. It's that time of year again. All of the shots are good, but that first one is awesome. A unique view of the venue.

Many thanks Karman... I'm trying to give the fish a bit of a workout at the moment.

Great shots. What setup did you use? I agree that the fisheye shot is excellent!

Also, whatever lens you used for shot 5 should probably go into the shop. It looks like it front focused a good 8 feet or so in front of the primary subject. :p

 I'll get the lens seen too asap! ;)

I was shooting with primes on a couple of MKII bodies: 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.8 and 135mm f/2L.

Wonderful shots, as usual...

What were you shooting the under tha basket shots at. You have great depth of field. When I am that close I can only use f2.2 or lower and end up with only one thin slice in DOF. How did you get such good DOF? Are you using flash?

I noticed that too... or was it operator error?

Ah, focus seems spot on with these. ;)

I suspected the primes as you can usually tell when a 2.8 is used (i.e. they tend to be a bit on the dark side or the shutter speed just isn't there), but seeing the amount of light in your fisheye shot made me think you could almost get away with a 2.8 at this venue. Again, great shots. It's the perfect inspiration I needed as I prepare to shoot another season of hoops.

Nice work!

Why is it I see no photos? On some threads I see no photos, while on others I see everything. Occassionally I see the "red x" box, but even when I do, clicking "Show Picture" only works about half the time.

I see no pictures on this thread... Anyone know why this is occurring?

Cheers Superdiver. No flash involved in this case... under the basket I was using the 50mm f/1.4 stopped down to f/2.2 or f/2.5.
