Hey Tina,

Love both of these shots. You've made a common flower look uncommonly good by using good composition and post-processing. What REALLY makes these prize-winners is the fantastically coloured and smooth bokeh.

Well done.

Question: EXIF says you shot them using your 70-300 set at 300 and wide open. Any particular reason for those settings?

It was the lens i had on to start with, and i can stand back, and get really good bokeh. I tried the nifty fifty, but it just wasn't the same, too much background coming in.
