Absolutely beautiful, love the scale of the tree compared to the bridge in 2.

Very nice and sharp John, love the detail in the bridge and the colors. The second is a perfect portrait to show the scale of the tree. The chapel is well positioned with very nice suroundings.

What a lovely restful place - beautiful images, John. Are the gardens in Edinburgh? My daughter likes photography also, and I think she would love to visit this place. She is in Aberdeen.

Nice images John, you hit the technical nail right on the head, these are exposed just right. The chapel one is my favorite.

Great series John. I especially like the chapel shot. Really great colors in all though. Well done.

The gardens are approximately 25 miles south of Edinburgh, so not too far from there, but perhaps a bit more from Aberdeen. ;) Here's a link to the Royal Botanic Gardens (external link) web site that gives more details including opening times and what to see in different seasons.

Nice series John.
Keep getting drawn back to the cascading stream .. nice simple shot that works well.
The long shadows make the chapel shot .. adds feeling to the scene .. the chapel needs straightening a little .. leaning to the right a bit
Any reason for using ISO 200 .. just curious.
Paul

Thanks Trevor and Paul. I must admit that I didn't notice the chapel leaning, and the ISO 200 setting was simply at the time I was taking it I was hand-holding and wanted both f/13 and not too slow a shutter speed. I used a tripod for many of my other shots, and when I generally used ISO 100 and f/13 (for maximal depth and avoiding diffraction which is apparently an issue with the 350D above this). Of course there were also occasions where I wanted a slower shutter speed, so I ignored my f/13 ceiling in these cases anyway. ;) To be honest, I've never seen any diffraction even with smaller apertures, so perhaps it is more of a purist concern that will never be obvious to me.

All good shots John which bring back happy memories. Really like th colours in the first one the only thing which spoils it is the horrible fence on the bridge but that's not your fault. :)

Great shots John, looks like a really nice place. You get a good idea for just how large the tree is next to the Swiss Bridge in the second shot.

Loe the chapel shot though i wouls probably bump up the saturation a teeny bit, but thats just a personal preference.

The stream does it for me, John. However, the first picture has some really nice colors in it, but I think the big tree next to the bridge works better in the second shot. In the first shot I find it a little distracting. I think they should chop it down. ;)

I love old structures like that chapel. Thanks for sharing. :)

Nice series of shots! It's amazing how tall the tree is in the second shot! The shot of the chapel is my favorite.
