well, i put together the cheapest little lighting kit i could, one umbrella and stand, a 285 on a couple sync cords. i shot it behind and over me, a little to the model's right for depth. these were taken in my dorm room for a design project (advertisement) using the wall as a backdrop, however i blocked a lot of the ambient so that it would dim down the background a bit. i white balanced for the wall, so the white balance was for a shadow. this way when i put it into photoshop and white balanced his face, the background turned a pale bluish that i needed for the add layout. not the right way to do it, i know, but it works when you need pale blue. shot with my new 50 1.8 mk1, which in my experience is 100% sharper then my mk2. i'd love any crit at all.
